Prices can vary significantly from reasonable to downright startling. Often the season and the location play a major part in pricing. The difference between high and low season prices can be substantial. Also some of the more well known areas such as Provence might charge more for a similar room other regions just because they can.

Generally speaking, these sorts of establishments are set up to cater for couples, not families or groups of singles. So if you are travelling as a couple and want to treat yourselves occasionally, this is the way to do it.
